Voss Labs Ltd respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains how we handle personal information in connection with our website at voss-labs.com (the "Site").
1. Who we are
For the purposes of UK data protection law, the data controller is Voss Labs Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales, with its registered office at 82A James Carter Road, Mildenhall, IP28 7DE, United Kingdom. You can contact us about privacy matters at contact@voss-labs.com.
2. Scope of this policy
This policy covers the Site only. Our mobile applications, including Pookie, Paint Pals and Cardley, each have their own privacy policy, which is presented within the app and on its App Store listing. Please refer to the relevant app's privacy policy for information about how data is handled within that app.
3. Information we collect
The Site is a static, brochure-style website. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not run advertising or behavioural tracking on it. In practice we may process:
- Information you choose to send us. If you email us (for example, at contact@voss-labs.com), we receive your email address, your name if provided, and the contents of your message.
- Technical log data. Like virtually all websites, when you visit the Site our hosting and infrastructure providers automatically process limited technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for the purposes of serving the Site securely and reliably. See section 6.
4. How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- respond to enquiries and provide support when you contact us;
- operate, maintain and secure the Site; and
- comply with our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising profiling.
5. Legal bases
Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Legitimate interests: to respond to your enquiries and to keep the Site secure and functioning, in a way that is not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligation: where we must process information to comply with the law.
6. Hosting & third parties
We use the following third-party providers to deliver the Site. These providers act as processors or independent controllers in respect of the limited technical data they handle:
- GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.) hosts the Site. GitHub processes server log data, including visitors' IP addresses, to deliver content and protect the service. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.
- Google Fonts (Google LLC) serves the web fonts used on the Site. When your browser loads a font, your IP address and browser information are processed by Google to deliver the font file. See the Google Privacy Policy.
If you use our email address, your message will be handled by our email provider.
7. Cookies
The Site does not set its own cookies and does not use analytics or advertising cookies. If this changes in future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent.
8. Data retention
We keep email correspondence only for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and to keep a reasonable record, after which it is deleted. Technical log data held by our infrastructure providers is retained in accordance with their own retention practices.
9. International transfers
Some of our providers (such as GitHub and Google) are based outside the United Kingdom. Where personal data is transferred internationally, it is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses, as required by UK data protection law.
10. Your rights
Subject to certain conditions, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction or erasure; restrict or object to our processing; and request data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@voss-labs.com.
11. Children
The Site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children through it.
12. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
13. Contact & complaints
If you have any questions or wish to make a complaint about how we handle your personal data, please contact us at contact@voss-labs.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, although we'd appreciate the chance to address your concerns first.
